This policy explains how ByeByeAcne ("the app") handles your data. ByeByeAcne is published by DS Maker LTD, a company registered in Cyprus (HE 465492), Efesou 9, 5280 Paralimni, Famagusta, Cyprus. DS Maker LTD is the data controller. Contact: daniel@dsmaker.com.
No account required
ByeByeAcne does not require an account. Your onboarding answers, skin analyses, scan history, routines and original photos are saved on your iPhone. They may be included in your device backup according to your Apple settings. We do not provide an account-based, cross-device history service.
AI analysis (Google Gemini)
Before using AI analysis, the app asks for your explicit permission. If you allow it, the photos you select (including selfies with a visible face), product information and relevant skincare answers are sent through our backend, hosted on Cloudflare, to Google Gemini on Vertex AI (Google Cloud) to produce skin observations, ingredient analyses or an illustrative skin preview. These images are not anonymous. You can decline permission; features that require AI will then not send any request.
AI results are informational, may contain mistakes, and are not a medical diagnosis or a guarantee of improvement. Consult a dermatologist for medical advice.
Our backend
Our backend receives the app user ID used by RevenueCat, to verify your subscription access and enforce usage limits. It processes request data only to return the response and does not create a cloud photo gallery. Infrastructure providers may process service and security logs under their own terms.
Subscriptions
Payments and subscriptions are handled by Apple; we never receive your payment-card details. RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) processes an app user identifier and purchase and subscription information to unlock paid features and restore purchases.
Analytics and diagnostics
We use PostHog to improve the app and its reliability. PostHog receives the app user identifier, app interactions, subscription-funnel events and diagnostic or error events. Session replay is disabled. Raw onboarding health answers and skin-analysis scores or severity are excluded from analytics events.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your data.
- We do not use your data for advertising or track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Legal basis
We process data to provide the app and the AI features you request (performance of a contract and your explicit consent for photo analysis), for our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and improving it, and where the law requires it.
Deleting your data
Settings → Delete my data removes the locally stored app history, photos and answers from your device. It does not cancel your Apple subscription and does not automatically erase records held by Apple, RevenueCat or PostHog. To cancel a subscription, use your Apple Account settings. To request access to, or deletion of, data held by us or our service providers, write to daniel@dsmaker.com. Apple backups and provider records follow their own settings, policies and legal retention requirements.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, port it, or object to its processing by writing to daniel@dsmaker.com. We answer within one month. You can also complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of Cyprus.
Children
ByeByeAcne is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we update this page and the date above.
