Dayterra

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 4 October 2026

This policy explains how Dayterra: Country Days Tracker ("Dayterra", "the app") handles your data. Dayterra is published by DS Maker LTD, a company registered in Cyprus (HE 465492), Efesou 9, 5280 Paralimni, Famagusta, Cyprus. DS Maker LTD is the data controller. Contact: daniel@dsmaker.com.

What Dayterra does

Dayterra counts the days you spend in each country so you can follow your own tax-residency, visa and stay limits. No account or login is required.

Location

With your permission ("While Using" or "Always"), the app uses your device location to record which country you are in each day, including when the app is closed. Country detection runs on your device; for points close to a border it may use Apple's geocoding service. Your location is never sent to DS Maker servers. You can change or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings.

Photos

If you choose to import past trips, the app reads only the date and location metadata of the photos in your library, on your device. Images are never uploaded, never viewed by us and never stored outside your photo library.

Your travel records

Your stays, counters and settings are stored on your device and synced through your own private iCloud account (Apple CloudKit), so they are available on your Apple devices. DS Maker cannot access this data. If you turn off iCloud for the app, your data stays on the device only.

Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. We use RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) to validate subscriptions and manage access. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and your App Store purchase information, not your travel records.

Analytics

We use PostHog (EU hosting) to understand how the app is used and improve it, for example which screens are viewed and which steps of setup and purchase are completed. Events are linked to an anonymous identifier and may include the countries you choose during setup (home base, passport, residency). PostHog does not receive your GPS locations, your photos or your day-by-day travel records. If you send optional feedback (for example when cancelling a trial), the text you write is sent to us through PostHog.

What we do not do

Legal basis

We process data to provide the app you installed (performance of a contract), for our legitimate interest in keeping the app secure and improving it, and where the law requires it.

Retention and deletion

Travel records remain on your device and in your iCloud until you delete them. In the app, go to You → Data & Sync → Delete All App Data to erase your travel records from the device and from your iCloud. You can also write to daniel@dsmaker.com to ask us to delete analytics data linked to your identifier.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may ask for a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, port it, or object to its processing by writing to daniel@dsmaker.com. We answer within one month. You can also complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection of Cyprus.

Children

Dayterra is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Not legal advice

Dayterra helps you keep track of your days. It does not provide legal or tax advice; rules differ by country and may consider more than the number of days.

Changes

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date above.
